This Week at Christ Reformed Church (February 3-9)

Note:  Our annual Congregational Meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 9.  The consistory is requesting that all church members be in attendance.

Sunday Morning, February 9:  As we continue our series on the Book of Romans, we come to Romans 1:16-17, a passage which many consider the theme of the entire book--"The Righteous Shall Live by Faith."  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  We take up Lord's Day 18 of the Heidelberg Catechism (Q & A 46-49) as we discuss Christ's Ascension.  Our afternoon service begins @ 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Bible Study:  February 5 @ 7:30 p.m.  We began a new series last time, "Reading the Bible with Paul:  How Paul Interprets the Old Testament."  We will continue our study of Romans 5:12-21, and consider Paul's discussion of the two Adams in light of the history of the covenants.

Friday Night Academy:  February 7, @ 7:30.  We are continuing our study of Mike Horton's theology text, The Christian Faith.  We pick up with our discussion of the incarnation (page 473).

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (January 27-February 2)

Sunday Morning, February 2:  We have begun a new series on the Book of Romans.  This week, we will work our way through Paul's greetings and personal remarks to the Christians in Rome.  Our text for this coming Lord's Day is Romans 1:5-15.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  We will discuss the resurrection of Jesus from Lord's Day 17 of the Heidelberg Catechism (Q & A 45).  Our afternoon service begins @ 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Bible Study:  January 29 @ 7:30 p.m.  We begin a new series, "Reading the Bible with Paul:  How Paul Interprets the Old Testament."  We start with Romans 5:12-21, and Paul's discussion of the two Adams.

Friday Night Academy:  January 31, @ 7:30.  We continue our study of Mike Horton's theology text, The Christian Faith.  We continue our discussion of the incarnation (page 471).

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (January 20-26)

Sunday Morning, January 26, 2020:  We begin a new series on the Book of Romans.  Our first sermon is an introduction to the book.  We'll be covering verses 1-4.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  Rev. Brad Lenzner will be conducting our catechism service.  Our afternoon service begins @ 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Bible Study:  January 22 @ 7:30 p.m.  We wrap up our series "The Future" with a discussion of what the future might hold.

Friday Night Academy:  January 24, @ 7:30.  We return to our study of Mike Horton's theology text, The Christian Faith.  We pick up with a discussion of the incarnation (page 468).

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (January 13-19)

Sunday Morning, January 19, 2020:  We will wrap up our series on Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus when we consider Paul's final remarks in 2 Timothy 4:9-22.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  We are discussing Lord's Day 16 (Q & A 40-44) of the Heidelberg Catechism.  We will look at the line in the Apostles Creed--"He descended into Hell."  Our afternoon service begins @ 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Bible Study:  January 15 @ 7:30 p.m.  Our series "The Future" resumes as we will discuss, "Signs that Herald the Return of Christ"

Friday Night Academy:  Resumes on January 24, 2020.

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (January 6-12)

Sunday Morning, January 12, 2020:  We begin to wrap up our series on Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus.  This coming Lord's Day we will address Paul's final exhortation to Timothy to preach the word.  Our text will be 2 Timothy 4:1-8.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  We continue to work through the Heidelberg Catechism.  We have come to Lord's Day 16 (Q & A 40-44).  We will look at the reasons for Christ's suffering.  Our afternoon service begins @ 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Bible Study:  Resumes on January 15, 2020.

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (December 30, 2019-January 5, 2020)

Sunday Morning, January 5, 2020:  We return to our series on Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus.  Our text this coming Lord's Day will be 2 Timothy 3:10-17, and our focus will be upon Paul's doctrine of the "God-breathed" nature of Scripture.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  In our study of the Heidelberg Catechism, we are working our way through Lord's Day 15 (Q & A 37-39).  We will consider the sufferings of Christ under Pontius Pilate.  Our afternoon service begins @ 1:15 p.m.

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (December 16-22)

Sunday Morning, December 22:  On the Sunday before Christmas, we will consider the kingdom which is realized in the birth of Jesus Christ.  Our texts are Luke 22:24-30 and Daniel 7:9-18.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  In our study of the Heidelberg Catechism, we have come to Lord's Day 15 (Q & A 37-39).  We will consider the sufferings of Christ for us and for our salvation.  Our afternoon service begins @ 1:15 p.m.

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (December 9-15)

Sunday Morning, December 15:  As we move into Advent, we will consider Jesus coming as the humble servant foretold by Isaiah.  Our text will be Philippians 2:1-11.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  We continue our discussion of Lord's Day 14 of the Heidelberg Catechism, (question 36).  We will consider Jesus as the only mediator between God and humanity.  Our afternoon service begins at 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Bible Study, December 11 @ 7:30 p.m.  We continue with our series "The Future" and we tackle the signs of the end which foretell of the return of Jesus Christ.

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (December 2-8)

Sunday Morning, December 8:  We will take up Paul's warning to Timothy about the godlessness of the "last days."  Our text will be 2 Timothy 3:1-9.  Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  We will take up Lord's Day 14 of the Heidelberg Catechism, (questions 35-36), and we will discuss the virginal conception of Christ.  Our afternoon service begins at 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Bible Study, December 4 @ 7:30 p.m.  We continue with our series "The Future" and will be wrapping up our discussion of the doctrine of Antichrist.

This Week at Christ Reformed Church (November 25-December 1)

Sunday Morning, December 1:  We are continuing with our series on Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus.  We'll address Paul's call to Timothy to be a worker approved by God.  Our text will be 2 Timothy 2:14-26. Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.   

Afternoon Service:  We will tackle the "Lordship salvation" controversy from Lord's Day 13 of the Heidelberg Catechism, question 34.  Our afternoon service begins at 1:15 p.m.
