Lutheran Advent Calendar

Lu.jpg

I'll bet some of you are thinking, "I knew it."  (h.t. Rod Rosenbladt)

I'm thinking, "that's not a bad idea!"  All I need is some cardboard and a sharpie and I can really spruce up my little fridge in my study.

Sorry, but you Southern Baptists are out of luck . . .

Yeah, I went off the deepend there. I wont make any excuses, but rather appologize and hope everyone can forgive me.

Ben Franklin said that beer is proof that God loves us. I agree, though I like ale more than beer. The calendar is proof that only the Lutherans have successfully wedded the two kingdoms, that of man and that of God, together. Anybody that is critical of this really needs to lighten up. May I suggest they have a "lite" beer.

Which reminds me of a joke I heard:

Why do you have to take two Baptists with you when you go fishing? Because if you just take one, he'll drink all your beer.

Great. I'm sober 21 years but still freak out my Baptist folks by telling them that the Scriptures do not condemn drinking, only drunkeness. Contrary to most Baptist house rules, whether written or unwritten.
