Pagels understands the antithesis between gnosticism and Christianity though. She is not wishy washy and does not try to hide gnosticism under the veneer of Christianity. She is a much more honest and straight talker and therefore a lot more interesting to read and hear lecture. She is voice worth spending some time to know- even though we should disagree with her vehemently.
