Only one of the ten? Dude, you need to get on the stick (though, living where on our western Left Coast as you do, more than one of them is prohibited by name.).

That Trueman article is great - what I wouldn't give to be able to write (and think) like him.

I'd guess that the Cow-eating tree is a fake. The Indian press is filled with fanciful stories that sell papers, but are not true.

In response to Trueman's article: I teach the children's SS class at my church and regularly and unapologetically discuss authority of all kinds. I discuss parental authority as if it is not even a question, and teach the children to take comfort in the pastor's authoritative declaration every week that their sins are forgiven, which is based on the authority of the Word of God. I make no apologies for it. I even have unashamedly discussed my own authority as a SS teacher, because I direct them to memorize Scripture every week. I am not ashamed of it, and I think the children are catching on that they should not be ashamed to be under authority.

Far from rejecting it, the children are eating it up with gusto. I have never been so touched in all my life. For all of the authority rejection so prevalent in our society, you can bet that the youth of today more than anything else want those in authority to not be afraid to exercise it. It is a comfort to them. Of course, I'm over 25.

Authority figures of the world unite!
