Who Said That?

question%20mark.jpgWho Said That?

“This clash (between evolution and creationism) is an absurdity because on the one hand there is much scientific proof in favor of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and which enriches our understanding of life and being as such.”

Okay, Meg and I are reading this quote over and over and we still don't get it.
Hmmmm, evolution enriching...well,it might make one more loving to the lower creatures.Animals are people too after all.
Or since we are here only for awhile we could step on everyone as we try to make our lives more enriching;-)
As for who said it, we aren't in the know.
Did he even say what the "other hand" was?

I'm going to guess the Pope, though I have to confess that I think I read something a couple days ago about it.

Did Warfield lean towards or affirm evolution as being consistent with the Bible? I ask because Wikipedia's entry on him states that he was a convinced theistic evolutionist. Could the Lion of Princeton have said this?

the Pope

Too many people. Richard Dawkins would be the obvious guess.

On the other hand... who's that theistic evolution guy at Calvin College?

Howard J. Vantill is the proffesor at Calvin College.

JP2 at least said something real similar.

That is, if this isn't him.

Al Gore. OK, I doubt it was Al Gore. My other guess is the Pope.

Reminds me of some statements I've read by Emil Brunner. Could be a lot of different people though. Most people believe in evolution.

Part of me suspects it could be Warfield, since he was an evolutionist, and I imagine the quote isn't going to be from an obvious source. Maybe C.S. Lewis. Or Alister McGrath.
