Some Interesting Links . . .

Links.jpgIsn't it great that the Pope is Catholic!  Benedict XVI prays for the conversion of Israel, and then baptizes a Muslim convert to Christianity.  People get mad and he doesn't care.  He is the Pope, after all.   Click here: German Jewish leader criticizes Pope over prayer | ReutersClick here: News | Africa - Reuters.com.  Now, if only we can get him to re-think this justification business.

This is just plain wrong.  To the great joy of boomers everywhere, the band Boston is going on tour.  OK.  But with a new lead singer--Michael Sweet, formerly of Stryper.  How can I ever get that image of the black spandex with the yellow stripe out of my mind.   Click here: Sleaze Roxx: Boston Kicks Off Summer Tour With Stryper Vocalist

My favorite blogger, Peter Abraham, has a great post on the ten people you want to avoid the next time you go to a baseball game.  I've sat next to every one of these guys!  Click here: The LoHud Yankees Blog

Scrubbing images out of the mind's eye can be painful. You did us no favors with that mullet image recently.

My 19 year-old son thinks Boston is one of the greatest rock band of all time. Perhaps this new image will disabuse him of such notions.

Not just the Pope! As an Anglican, I used this collect on Good Friday:

"Merciful God, you have made all people and hate nothing that you have made, nor do you desire the death of sinners, but rather that they should be converted and live: have mercy on the Jewish people and all who do not know you or deny the faith of Christ crucified. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt for your word and bring them home to your fold, blessed Lord, so that we may all become one lock with one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever, Amen.

- From "An English Prayer Book", a modern language version of Archbishop Cranmer's "Book of Common Prayer". Last Friday was also the anniversary of Cranmer's martyrdom.

Bostons new lead singer? What happened to the old one? When they came to Iowa in 97 or 98 I went. 4th row seats and back stage passes. It was a gift from my bosses. So I got pictures with them all and the whole 9 yards. Actually they are just down to earth guys like us. The lead singer had a guy at the concert hit the 'high notes' that he couldn't hit anymore. Now with all that said, it was a great concert and I also was a thumb sucking baby Christian in my pampers at that time. How times have changed since then!!!
