Thanks Yanks, for the Memories!

Watching the last game from Yankee Stadium made for quite an evening for a Yankees fan of some 45 years . . .  Talk about a blast from the past.  All the great players . . .  All the great moments. . .

I sat in front of the TV with my sons and we just soaked it in, not saying much, but collectively marveling at the accomplishments of Ruth, Gehrig, Dimaggio, Mickey, Yogi, Whitey, Reggie, etc., etc.   All in all, it was a fitting end to a dismal year, the first time since 1993 that my Yanks won't be playing in October.

I'm sure the new stadium will be state of the art and the team will rebuild, but it just won't be the same.  No sports venue on earth has the magic of Yankee Stadium.

It is a sad day to know Yankee Stadium will be no more. I think the team's standing this year speaks volumes about the decision to build a new stadium. Out with the old and in with the new is not always a good thing.

My boys have been struggling for the past several years with so many changes in team membership and managerial issues. It seens to have taken a toll.

I'll take good old Yankee Stadium over state-of-the-art any day.

The season is not over yet! Please help us, Tampa Bay Rays fans!

Encourage the Yankees to beat the Red Sox in the season's final series, so that the Rays will win the AL East.

I can imagine the Yankees would be willing to play such a spoiler role against the Red Sox. :)

I'm sure that Pastor Kim will be looking for a Yankee shrine in the new Heaven!
