Well, it was obviously a pope, and he was probably talking about one of the crusades. I'm going to guess Pope Urban, since he started that whole mess.

Before I saw any comments I was certain it had to be one of the popes in regard to the Crusades. As to which one? Haven't a clue....

Seriously, I'd guess one of the medieval popes, starting a crusade. My history's not good enough to tell you which one.

This is what happens when you interpret the scriptures without a Christ-centered focus; you start getting a bit delusional. This is not any different than the Islamic beliefs is it? Sounds medieval to me- one of the powerful Popes during the Middle Ages- I'll agree with Pope Urban.
