Who Said That?

"Just a word of advice to certain people.

Maybe you don't want to accept Jesus Christ and would rather go the hard way [i.e., through the seven-year tribulation].  You'll have to find some means of surviving for seven years without depending on this corrupt society.  This society will be totally taken over by the Antichrist.  No one will be able to buy or sell except he has his mark.  If you take the mark, you are lost forever.

The best plan is probably to take off for the jungles of Mexico and learn how to live off the land.  Just do your best to survive down there.  I would suggest the remote areas of Oregon, but I don't know how you'd survive the winters."

You know the drill, leave your guess (please no cheating or google searches) in the comments section below.

Can't wait to see editorial comments on this one!

No idea, but that is wrong in so many ways. Even dispensational friends I have would have issues with it.

My guess is that this is just a ploy to increase tourism to Mexico, so its probably the Mexican president or the Minster of Tourism or something. :)

Jim Jones back from the grave? Did he recommend packing seven years' worth of Kool-Aid? Guess they wouldn't need that much, anyway...

Is this the plot to an Arnold Shwarzenegger movie I missed? Either a Predator sequel or Sarah Connor's guide to hiding her son from Termiantors?

Clearly somebody is conflating what they see at the movies with what they read in the Bible.

On the other hand after the California governor leaves office this plot would make a heck of a vehicle for his return to Hollywood.

Funny thing is, the same people who proclaim that civilisation will collapse at the Rapture are also to be found regularly bemoaning the complete dearth of Christian faith in their nation in such terms that one might have thought the nation would not much notice the absence of its Christians. Confused? I am.

If everyone takes this advice & goes to the jungles of Mexico, would there be room to hide? And...if the secret police/informant dudes are lurking everywhere, could one really hide? And...wouldn't it be easier to learn to live off the land prior to on the job training? Just wondering. As to who said it, I have no idea. The jungles of Mexico bit is similar to Collateral Damage I think.

I know who it is, but I'll keep silent on it here (given I've seen the quote elsewhere).

Living in the "jungles of Mexico" or even remote Oregon might not be a bad idea, though, even though you'd think Nicolae--uh, Antichrist would have eyes and ears everywhere. After all, 1st through 12th Left Behind seem to indicate that Antichrist's forces can be quite inept ;)
