Who Said That?

"They say we're apathetic . . . . They say we're not energized.  Well, you know, I'm a preacher.  There's a story in the Bible about a man named Ezekiel.  Ezekiel saw a valley full of dry bones.  Somebody said, 'Can these bones live?' And the way he made them live was he started connecting them together . . . . `If we can connect these bones' . . . `we can make America breathe and America live as one nation under God.'"

Who said that?  Leave your guess in the comments section below.  Please no google searches or cheating.  Answer to follow next week.

That has to be someone at a Glenn Beck rally.

I'll guess Mike Huckabee.

But whoever said it, that is some of the worst exegesis I have seen in a long time!

Could be any number of people. The patter sounds a bit like John Hagee.

The lack of energy/apathetic intro suggests this was somebody at the recent democratic rally in response to Beck's. Jeremiah Wright? Jesse Jackson? Sharpton?

I think reg is correct. Does sound like the present political climate.

The question is why didn't he rhyme it out like he did in Mr. Deeds: "Yes we remember Preston Blake, a man with faith no man could shake. A strength no man could break. A character no man could fake. For goodness sake, let's eat some cake."

I think I agree with reg and Alberto, someone with a hint of know a Bible story and then mangling it to the point of being unrecognizable!
