I'd Like a Cold Calvinus

A friend returned from a trip to Switzerland earlier this year with a bottle of Calvinus biere (the blond bio).  He assured me that if he could have fit two bottles into his luggage he would have given me one.  I told him he should have purchased the 24 inch suitcase, not the 22 inch.  "Next time," he said.

I'm told Calvinus is not available in the States, but does anybody know that for sure?  I asked the kid at BevMo if they had it.  "Do you carry a beer named for John Calvin, the Protestant Reformer?"  He looked at me like I was nuts (or drunk).

The company's website is very clever and worth a look.  Click Here

That intro is pretty funny; very Monty Python. I don't think Calvin would have drunk fizzy yellow liquid though; they need to add a good robust stout or porter to their lineup!

You could always email them at info@calvinus.ch, and ask the cost for them to ship you a bottle or a case internationally, or if they have an american distributor they could contact. Or if you flatter them enough, maybe they would mail you a couple labels.

If worse comes to worse, I have an Arminian friend who will sell you some - he makes it in the bathtub and calls it "Calvinass." It only comes in a "5-pack" though.
