"He Has a Cannon for an Arm"

Aaron Hicks sure does . . .   His throw was clocked at 105.5 MPH, the fastest ever recorded by MLB statcast.  Hicks' throw completed a double play too.  Who would try to score on a shallow fly to left when the outfielder has a arm like this?

Great arm! I am surprised that the Yanks don't have him in right field, where most cannon armed players roam.

I am an old guy, so I remember Roberto Clemente. He could catch a ball against the wall and still nail a runner at the plate.

Reminds me of Game 1 of the 1974 World Series where Joe Ferguson stepped in front of Jimmy Wynn and threw a dart to Steve Yeager colliding with Sal Bando. That was when catchers could block the plate, and Yeager was one of the best.

To throw a baseball such a distance at such a great speed is one thing; to through it accurately is quite another. He threw it directly to the catcher who was standing just off the base as demanded by the current politically correct MLB rules. Amazing.
