Who Said That?

question mark.jpgWho Said That?

"There is absolutely no question that God's hedge of protection was lifted from America.  September 11 was a curse on our beloved nation, but worse is the fact that most Americans don't understand why it happened . . . . America is in this position primarily because we are the only nation today in alliance with both the historical brothers of prophecy--Ishmael and Isaac . . . . America has married these two brothers:  Ishmael (the Arab nations) out of convenience and Isaac (Israel) out of guilt. . . . America is under a biblical curse that can be reversed.  Jerusalem is the final compromise.  If America divides Jerusalem, there will be no forgiveness.  America will tragically end up on the ash heap of history."

As usual, no cheating (google searches).  Please your guess in the comments section below.

A raving lunatic?

Could be Hagee. If so, it might be from a "sermon." Hagee resolves to know nothing among his congregation but the nation of Israel and it restored.

Sounds like Robertson too.

Prolly the American heor, Pat Robertson....

Yikes, I cheated but, I'll not say his name.

Never heard of the guy myself and he has a bestseller. 1468 reviews on Amazon.

Hope his book gets reviewed in MR mag.

I have no plans to read it. I'll just wait for the movie to come out.

" America will tragically end up on the ash heap of history."

Well, duh. I hope so. Personally, I'm desiring a better country.

It's kinda like a TV game show, with Hagee, Van Impe, Robertson and Linsey
all standing behind doors 1 to 4 (or is it like a lottery wheel?). Let's face it: any one of those geniuses could have said it. So make your choice and, if your right, win a free trip! (Guess where?)

I'm going with Robertson. He's always liked hedges . . .

The phrase "...and if your right..." should read: "...and if you're right...", and "Linsey" should be "Lindsey". Sorry about the errors. That's what I get for not proofing my phrases before they're posted!

I also googled his name, and will not mention it--I won't break the law. But, I did find this other incredibly insightful quote by the same author:

"At the beginning of this chapter I placed a quote from Rev. W. O. Vaught, who was Bill Clinton's pastor while he was governor of Arkansas. Reverend Vaught, who made more than forty trips to Israel during his lifetime, told Clinton that God would forgive him for mistakes he made while in office. "But if you abandon Israel," Vaught said, "God will never forgive you."

I guess anti-dispensationalism is the unforgivable sin. Covenant theologians--repent!

C'mon, this one isn't fair. :) Sure, somebody said this exact quote, but there are _so many_ who say in essence the same thing! Hagee, Falwell, Van Impe, etc...

By the by, I love your "Who said that?" posts. Keep 'em coming! :)

"(I even learned how to pronounce his name (from a Dutch friend)."

Who-kema. (We spent 15 years in a CRC. I think we've heard every Dutch name that ever emigrated.)

I googled for it, and honestly I've never heard of the guy before, but I've heard stuff similar to that from others. "America's mysterious absence from biblical prophecy....." and Damascus is scheduled to get nuked any day now (not that that couldn't happen).

Ditto. It's fun.

Hmmm...the back cover endorsements are quite telling. Also what does it say about American evangelicalism that the almost 1500 reviews of the book have returned an average of 4.5 stars....

Must be Falwell.

Dispie-danya! Wow, I've waited a long time to say that! "God will never forgive you." This fuzzy take on atonement and the Gospel has gone far enough!! Does this Vaughan-guy think he's a new Pope?
