Gee, those folks that depend on the "nice" Jesus may find this verse a bit uncomfortable...

Jude 5
Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

Thanks Pastor Kim for giving the truth to us straight-up!

That's a textual variant that most translations don't go for. Yes, it was a bit jarring when I read through it in the ESV the first time.

I dont know where else to ask this so I'll do it here. Kim, your Judges sermons, is there any audio on those available?

I've been on a Judges binge for the last month or so. That's a book that just gets very little publicity but is full of great stuff. There's not even that many written studies on it. Michael Wilcock's Message of Judges is about all I can think of off hand.
The great website 'Two-Age' says Daniel Block and Barry Web have good books out on it, but I havent read them. Plus the stuff they recommend is usually too expensive for me anyway.
I think Judges is a book that is just waiting for someone to make a name for themselves with a great study or series of sermons. Man, if only I was a writer or a theologian...

Great sermon, Pastor Kim.
As a teacher who teaches a Worldviews class, I often will have my students read atheists like Dawkins or Harris. I have noticed that atheists will often point to Christians who are just in it for the money. If only more Christians were aware of the message of Jude (and 2 Peter), we could show Dawkins and his ilk that Scripture is quite aware of that issue, and that the "New Atheists" observations are really not that new after all.
