Blown Away! Literally and Metaphorically!

Aegis%20Cruiser.jpgI don't know about you, but this sure makes me proud to be an American!

Hitting an object the size of a school bus, which is moving @ 17,000 mph while orbiting the earth, with a missile launched from a ship in the North Pacific, from 130 miles away?  This is absolutely amazing!

Throughout the years, I've known a lot of guys who work in the defense/aerospace industry.  You guys should all take pride in this one.

I think it amazing as well!! It was also cool that they were trying to hit the fuel cell which is only 3-4 feet wide. And this was done with just a modified missle on a Navy boat bobbing up and down in the water.

Aegis - "if it flys, it dies"
Wonder if Michelle O. is "proud" of this one? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Absolutely amazing! Way to go NAVY! The Russians and the Chinese will be at it a long time before they can duplicate this one. Again, congratulatons to the entire U.S. Military Industrial Complex!!! I love it!

A big fat HOO-AHH (or OOOH-RAH or HUA) to the men and women of the US Armed Forces. In this case, the Navy and the "Military Industrial Complex" that supplies our brave men and women the ability to kill people and break things to protect our freedoms on a daily, all too often thankless, basis.

God bless the Navy, and God bless America for as long as He will!

Do not get me wrong this is good stuff, but let's not make this into more than it is. China did this in 2007. Here is the link

Moreover, if you read the article we did it first in 1985! This is just a safety issue and it generated press because of the announcement so that we do not become hypocrites for protesting China's success.
