This is how Princton religion professor Cornel West views the life and death of Mchael Jackson--as a Messiah figure.  West made these comments in an interview with Tavis Smiley and they are cited in John Kass's Chicago Tribune editorial "Deification of [Michael] Jackson" from July 8, 2009.
