Remembering September 11th

Here's a very moving photo essay commemorating the events of that horrible day, along with today's memorial ceremonies.

Ironic the source - boston.com is the web site of the extremely liberal Boston Globe.

Viewing these events of Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, certainly brings back lots of memories of that infamous day in our country's history. But what still sticks in my mind just as much is Sunday, Sept. 16th. The church I attended at the time was filled to the brim. Ushers had to set up extra chairs and it was standing room only after that, out into the narthex. Attendance dropped considerably the following Sunday and was back to "normal" by the end of the month.

Who were all of these people? Why were they suddenly there? What did they expect to hear? What was it that they didn't hear that caused them to gradually disappear again?

I tuned into my local "Christian" radio station yesterday to hear a looney dispensationalist, Jim Zelonka, of "Cultivate Ministries" claim 911 was caused by a U.S. Government conspiracy (you know, the New World Order) of planted bombs. Some times, you can't make up the idiocy of some Christians. I wrote to the manager to complain--doubt it will have any effect.

I thought this only came out of Hollywood via the Cult of Charlie Sheen and good ol' Rosie!

Jim Zelonka, of "Cultivate Ministries" sounds ridiculous. We may never understand why God allowed the events of 9/11, but regardless He has a plan. He is with the victims (Christians and those called into faith after 9/11). How quickly do we forget the events, which happened except for one day a year if that. And know we try to look at what God is doing and why as if we can understand God’s plan for a major disaster. We need to remember to pray for those affect by 9/11.
