Who Said That?
"Just a word of advice to certain people.
Maybe you don't want to accept Jesus Christ and would rather go the hard way [i.e., through the seven-year tribulation]. You'll have to find some means of surviving for seven years without depending on this corrupt society. This society will be totally taken over by the Antichrist. No one will be able to buy or sell except he has his mark. If you take the mark, you are lost forever.
The best plan is probably to take off for the jungles of Mexico and learn how to live off the land. Just do your best to survive down there. I would suggest the remote areas of Oregon, but I don't know how you'd survive the winters."
You know the drill, leave your guess (please no cheating or google searches) in the comments section below.
Can't wait to see editorial comments on this one!
This comes from Chuck Smith's commentary (if you can call it that) on the Book of Revelation, What the World Is Coming To, (Maranatha House, 1977), 198-199.

I'm going with John Hagee.
:)
Is this the plot to an Arnold Shwarzenegger movie I missed? Either a Predator sequel or Sarah Connor's guide to hiding her son from Termiantors?
Clearly somebody is conflating what they see at the movies with what they read in the Bible.
On the other hand after the California governor leaves office this plot would make a heck of a vehicle for his return to Hollywood.

Living in the "jungles of Mexico" or even remote Oregon might not be a bad idea, though, even though you'd think Nicolae--uh, Antichrist would have eyes and ears everywhere. After all, 1st through 12th Left Behind seem to indicate that Antichrist's forces can be quite inept ;)
