I am reading Hoekema's 'The Bible and the Future', based on your recommendation. I have found it very sound and comprehensible - until chapter 7. Herein, Hoekema relies on "scientific" arguments to put forth the idea that death came to plants and animals before The Fall - as a normal course dictated by Creation.

And when I read your post here - you quoted Gen 3:17, which reveals that the ground (and all it produces) was cursed because of Adam. And in verse 14 the Lord tells the serpent, " cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field".

Do these verses not tell us that The Fall brought curses and death to all of creation - not just man?
