Michael's presentation was balanced and compassionate. Yet I can't help but be struck by how far from the reality of the vast majority of churches such an approach is. If the Doctrines of Grace are not in the warp and woof of the congregation's DNA then a lot of what he said would make no sense. And for those of us in denominations which are in danger of or in the process of capitulating to the societal pressures on this issue, such a thoroughly faithful approach seems even more distant.
