This Is Just Plain Stupid!

The Baseball powers (MLB) are actually toying with a rule change designed to shorten games.  Beginning in the tenth inning, each team would be allowed to open the inning with a runner on second base--the idea is to make it easier to score and hence shorten the game.

This is just plain stupid!

Proposed Rule Change

The idea had to have come from the Left. A conservative would never come up with something like that!

Agreed. This is something for the church softball league, but not the big leagues. Maybe the AL can adopt it since they don't play real baseball in the AL anyway ;)

If they're going this far, why not just decide it with a coin toss, if the game is tied at the end of nine innings? MLB seems determined to ruin baseball, and it looks like they may pull it off.

Just one more step down from the AL's designated hitter rule, which I've always disliked because it allows pitchers to hit people and then never have to face an at-bat against an avenging pitcher from the opposing team. Many people seem to like the DH rule and think that it should be applied across the MBL, but I've yet to understand why.
