Auditing the Federal Reserve

Here's your federal government at work!  Democrat congressman, Alan Grayson, politely (yet firmly) questions Elizabeth Coleman, the inspector general of the Federal Reserve about the Fed's recent actions associated with the bailout.  This is simply unbelievable!

You can post about politics but you can't answer our theological questions? Hmmm...
KIDDING!

Pastor Kim:

I thought that you were on vacation (hopefully a great one).

Does any one else out there get the feeling that Kim knows what's going on -- even while he is sleeping?

PB:

Was that a cheap shot? I'm not sure. I'm a real slacker alright. Just wait till the next time you need a question answered . . .

Lloyd:

I'm around. I used some of my vacation time to redo my study. It is nice to have everything just the way I want it!

I'm now on sabbatical, writing a series of articles for Tabletalk, an article for Mod Ref, and working on a couple of upcoming books (including associated research), as well as catching up on some reading.

So, I've too busy to blog much, or answer PB's questions.

pb,

You have to remember that Benton Harbor is a suburb of (transformationalist) Little Geneva, where the 2K peso has an awful exchange rate...speaking of federal reserves and such.

Pastor Kim:

Next time they ask you to answer some questions, tell them to do their homework and research it out.

A couple of years ago we had a CPA in our adult Bible class, (I bring up CPA, so no one will think that he was dumb), and every class, the pastor would have to spend half of the class time in answering his questions.

One day, I pulled him aside (yes Reg, lovingly) and told him that all of his questions are answered in the Book of Concord -- with the Scripture references. He just needed to take some time and do his research.

I guess that it was too much work for him, so the next week, he was back at it, wasting class time on his questions.

I probably got some folks mad at me. Whatever!

Lloyd,

I'm a CPA and I also get irritated with stupid questions. The next, and every, time he asks a stupid question I would suggest telling the guy to put a lid on it (Keep in mind I'm not a diplomat).

The Inspector General wants to keep her job, that is why she doesn't know anything. Obama abruptly fired an Inspector General, Mr. Waldrin, who was doing his job. Problem was, he was inspecting one of Obama's supporters and AmeriCorps. Have you read about the letters from 4 Cabinet Secretaries to Jon Kyl of Arizona. Kyl spoke out about the stimulus not working. The 4 letters advised him to stop criticizing or else; the else would be funds to go to Arizona would not be sent! Seems this admin likes to intimidate, in my opinion. Are we still living in America? Have you heard of the Hate Crimes Bill? It could make what you THINK about homosexuality a federal hate crime. The Dems struck the part that would exempt pastors from the 'crime'. See Senator Jim Demint's speech on it. The one-party rule is not faring well for this 'land of the free'. If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention.

Correction: the fired Inspector General's name is Gerald WALPIN, not Waldrin, as above.

OOPS! The letters were sent to the Gov of AZ because of Senator Kyl's opposition to the stimulus. Still an attempt at intimidation by 4 Cabinet Secretaries. I guess with all the 'czars' in place, the Cabinet Members are freed up to write letters.

Thanks for this! It is, quite simply, shocking.

It reminds me of the story a while back where California could not account for 40,000 of the 70,000 vehicles owned by the state!

Don't worry 'tho, health care will be better!

Peace

Scary,
She is in charge but know nothing. Either she is not answering for fear of her job or she is not very good at her job.

That congressman was certainly polite, but he must be a noobie from another planet if he is truly SHOCKED!!!! that a government agency is financially unhinged from reality. This is, after all, the type of government such followers of Hamilton and Clay and Lincoln FDR and many others have been pushing for. Nobody who has been awake for 2 decades should be surprised. I am, however, continually disgusted by all levels of government. The current comments by Congressman Conyers being the latest irritatn: http://kimriddlebarger.squarespace.com/the-latest-post/2009/7/27/more-irresponsible-behavior-from-our-congress.html
