These truly remarkable words of will-worship come from Catholic apologist Patrick Madrid.  For those of you who guessed that these words came from an Arminian theologian, heed well the warnings of Toplady and others, that Rome and many Arminians, use the same biblical texts in the same way to attack monergism.

These words come from Rudolf Bultmann, ("The New Testament and Mythology" [1941]).  Although we have quickly forgotten Bultmann's legacy--the quest to demythologize the New Testament--he remains the patron saint of the Jesus Seminar and all anti-supernatural theological liberals since (i.e., Funk and Borg).

My Oh My, how quickly we forget.  This exhortation for men to pray like Finney came from Wellington Boone's chapter in the best-selling Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper (p. 26)  I guess there has not been a revival because there are no more Finneys!

As many of you guessed, this comes from Charles Ryrie's book, Dispensationalism (Moody Press, 1995, p. 193).  The next generation of dispensationalists need to interact with people like Mike Horton and his book, God of Promise.  The argument that these covenants (works and grace) are not in the Bible, simply doesn't fly any more.

OK -- we don't know who said this because we don't know who wrote the Didache, one of the earliest non-canonical writings.  It seemed that the early church (like ours) was plagued by religious hucksters, out to make a buck (or a denarii, or whatever).  The churches were warned about men who claimed to be speaking under the guidance of the Spirit, but who then asked for money.  Sound familiar?
