From the Other White Horse Media . . .

Pets%20in%20heaven.jpgYes, there is another White Horse Media.  The "other" White Horse Media is the ministry of Steve Wohlberg, who mostly deals with end-times stuff from a historicist/Adventist perspective (Click here: White Horse Media - Proclaiming His Salvation, Truth and Triumphant Return)

So, if you run across the book Will My Pet Go to Heaven? and notice that it comes from White Horse Media, please know that it comes from those other guys . . .

As for Andy?  Sorry, Andy, its "turn or burn."  You might be my loyal friend, but you are headed for dog hell!  Remember all those times you whizzed on my treadmill?

Pope John Paul II:
'Animals Possess A Soul'

Pope John Paul II declared in a public audience
in 1990 that "also the animals possess a soul and
men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren".
He said, too, that they are the "fruit of the creative
action of the Holy Spirit and merit respect," and are
as near to God as men are."

The Pope went on to say that, "animals have the breath
of life and were given it by God. In this respect, man
created by the hand of God is identical with all living
creatures. ... The existence therefore of all living creatures
depends on the living spirit/breath of God that not only
creates but also sustains and renews the face of the earth."

JPII: Has the RCC confirmed whether Protestants have souls yet?

Apart from the Pentecostals, of course, who have soul in abundance, or so I'm led to believe.

Do we have enough in the Bible to actually say for sure what the fate of animals is? Nothing I've ever tried to dig into.

Terry Pratchett, in the only one of the Diskworld novels I have read, ran the numbers on the published dimensions of the heavenly city and speculated that "maybe (happy thought) pets are allowed".

Was I wrong thinking that creation is to be redeemed, wouldn't this include dogs?...but not cats of course.

Hmmm, maybe Pastor Riddlebarger is reading Rev 22:15 literally...

I'm with Wil Rogers on this one. Can't give you a verse, but all dogs go to heaven. Justification by canine identity, so to speak.

To the question of whether the RCC has determined Protestants have souls, it is questionable whether us "frozen chosen" Presbyterians have souls.

Why can't Animals be in heaven? New heaven and new earth, so, why not creatures who do not kill humans nor each other.

No hawks or mocking birds which keep pastor's awake at night.

Where in the Bible does is say that animals well or well not go to heaven?
I have not ran across any scripture which is clear on this. So who are we to say either way? What is the proof from God's Word that states it is one way or the other?

The Bible (nor any theologian I know of) does not say animals won't be in our redeemed world. But, those animals present won't be resurrected/glorified animals who died on this earth. Distinctions in Scripture are clear...eat animals, not people...sacrifice animals, not people...man is made imago dei, not animals...a fallen sparrow is noted, but its value is much less than a person, etc. No passage overtly says "Animals have no souls," nor does any passage overtly say "God is Trinity." Yet that inference is clear. Animals are to be cherished as part of God's creation and they should not be mistreated, but they aren't among the creatures with souls or among the redeemed and resurrected.

My observation of the history of recent history would strongly suggest to me that my pets, living and dead, are more worthy of heaven than at least two of the last cenury's leaders, one of whom, at least, could possibly have repented of his sins before he died. If pets aren't barred by scripture, I chose to hope that they might find me and I them.

"If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans".

I'm not a universalist, so, only elect pets will go to heaven. That may or may not include cats.

FWIW...the aforementioned White Horse Media guys may be infringing copyright law with the name. ???

Something to have the business admins to research.
