Merry Christmas from the Riddleblog!
Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 12:09PM
The Riddlebargers wish each of you a very blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
That's our clan (Mark's wearing the hat and shades, my wife Micki, and my oldest son, David) standing in front of Half Dome in Yosemite during our annual August church trip to the Eastern Sierras.
Dave's beginning his final year of college (Lord willing)--he's an engineering major @ Cal-State Long Beach, and currently works in the high performance automotive field (Probe Industries).
Mark's a freshman at Cal-State Fullerton--his major is business/economics.
Andy's not pictured. Although he's getting a bit long in the tooth, he remains the "wonder dog."

If all that does not come to pass for anyone of us whose fault is it? The devil, ours or God's?
My life has not been all that happy, healthy or prosperous in previous years why should it be any better next year? Is not the body perishing but the inner man is being renewed day by day? Does not every one get sick at some stage in their lives and eventually die?
I do not like this life much at all as it is in this world's system. I'd rather be absent from this ailing body and mind to be present with the LORD.
Christmas time for me is often a very sad time of the year due to a difficult home life and some very unpleasant memories.
God promises blessedness rather than happiness doesn't He? The pursuit of happiness in this life is an American dream isn't it?
