Who Said That?

"Yes, religion and politics do mix. America is a nation based on biblical principles. Christian values dominate our government. The test of those values is the Bible. Politicians who do not use the bible to guide their public and private lives do not belong in office."

My guess is W. Due to this being Bush's last week in office, and because he seems to have a pretty mixed up view of the two kingdoms.

I am going to throw a name out that I just thought of when I read the post. This is a guy who was popular in Christian magazines in the 70's- I believe his name was Sen. Hatfield from Oregon. He was quite vocal about his biblical faith in the political realm. I am sure this is not right but a very interesting study could be done about evangelicals taking their theology with them when making policy decisions in the U.S. government. Whether they did any good or just increased the great divide with unbelievers? We should be able to work with those and gain experience dealing with others who do not share our beliefs- especially about critical issues dealing with our national security or important domestic matters (like the economy right now). We at least have that in common with unbelievers.
