Easter Services This Week at Christ Reformed Church

You are cordially invited to join us this week for our Easter week services at Christ Reformed Church in Anaheim.  We'll be going through Matthew's account of Jesus instituting the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, our Lord's sacrificial death for our sins, as well as his bodily resurrection from the dead.

Maundy Thursday, April 21 — 7:30 p.m

Sermon:  "When I Drink It New With You in My Father's Kingdom."

We'll focus upon Jesus' reinterpretation of the Passover when he institutes the Lord's Supper.

Sermon Texts: Exodus 24:1–17 and Matthew 26:17–30

Good Friday, April 22 — 7:30 p.m

Sermon: "My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?"

We'll focus upon Jesus Christ taking upon himself the guilt of our sins

Sermon Texts: Zechariah 13:1–9, Psalm 22:1–24, and Matthew 27:27–56

Easter Sunday, April 24 — 10:25 a.m.

Sermon: "He Has Risen From the Dead."

We'll focus upon the nature of the Christian truth claim, as well as the meaning of Jesus' bodily resurrection from the dead.

Sermon Texts:  Psalm 16:1–11 and Matthew 27:57–28:15

Just Having Fun:

Hey Look! See the ethereal rainbow light to the left of Rev. Riddlebarger?

What is THAT?

Seriously, though...

Pastor Kim, I want to thank you over and over again for truly feeding your flock.

It is such relief, comfort, encouragement and inspiration to hear The Gospel proclaimed and Christ publicly placarded - boldly, each Holy Week (not to mention each Lord's Day routinely.)

I am so grateful for both our Pastors (Andrew); teachers, Prof. Samples and all the devoted, loving Sunday school teachers - the Elders & Deacons; the music directors, and of course, our beloved Church-Lady.

It is awesome to witness God's generosity and mercy in our church. It humbles me to have the privilege of being counted a sheep there.

The most powerful "special effect" in the worship service is when The Gospel is clearly proclaimed.

While you and other churches announce your meeting times for Holy Week, our church is pushing it's Easter egg hunt on Saturday. Makes me sad, but they view it as a big outreach opportunity.

Next time we move, I am going to look for a church that "feeds it's flock" rather than one where every service is an outreach event.
