Fesko on Galatians

The first volume in a new series of New Testament expository commentaries (Lectio Continua) has been released:  J. V. Fesko on Galatians.

You can read about this new series here:  Click Here

You can order Fesko's volume here:  Click Here

I am hard at work on my initial contribution to this series, a commentary on 1 Corinthians.  Look for it early next year.

I love Fesko. I listen to his sermons from his old church.

I am sorry that you take the New Perspective on Paul line on Galatians - that the Galatian heresy was simply about Jewish national/emblematic additions, ie that all that Paul was advocating was for Gentiles to believe the gospel and be obedient to God's law.

But Paul does not talk about additions to the law; he talks about the deadly effects of trying to obey the law itself. When we take Galatians to be about freedom from additions to the law (eg that we can after all dance, drink, smoke and wear lipstick) we miss its more profound warning about legalism of a much more serious kind
