Dead in Sin, Alive in Christ
What are the implications of Paul’s statement in Ephesians 2, that before we were made alive in Christ, we were actually dead in our trespasses and sins? How does this particular view of our sinful nature relate to our understanding of God’s grace and mercy in Christ? On this program, the hosts will be wrapping up chapter one of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians and will begin taking a look at the first few verses of chapter two.

Sunday Morning, January 28: We are continuing our study of the Minor Prophets. This week, we will tackle Hosea chapters 4 and 5. We will be focusing upon the failure of Israel's priests to teach the people a knowledge of God. Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.
Sunday Afternoon: We are working our way through the Formula of Chalcedon. We are spending several weeks discussing basic issues in Christology. Our catechism service begins @ 1:15 p.m.
Wednesday Night Bible Study (January 24 @ 7:30 p.m.): We resume our series, "Apologetics in a Post-Christian Age." This week, we are discussing various tests for truth.
The Academy (Friday, January 26 @ 7:30 p.m.): We resume our lecture/discussion series based upon Allen Guelzo's Teaching Company Course, The American Mind. Our topic this week is the influence of social Darwinism upon American intellectual history.

An Introduction to Ephesians
Why does Paul refer to his fellow Christians as “saints” at the beginning of his letters, and how can this be true since all Christians continue to struggle with remaining sin? What does it mean to be chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world, as Paul teaches in Ephesians? Does God choose us because of something good that he foresaw in us? And what is the significance of the idea that we have been predestined to be adopted as his very own sons? The host will discuss these questions and more as we begin a new series on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.
